Kalmeer Game Reserve & Lodge is conveniently located on the Cape-Namibia route and is only 40km from Cape Town. Berg 4×4 Rentals is located at the same premises which will make your pick-up or drop-off very easy. Nestled away in a Rooikrantz haven, the farm is home to several wildlife species including antelope, zebra, giraffe, and wildebeest.
Kalmeer means “Calm Down” and that is exactly our wish for each person whom we have the pleasure of hosting. Our Lapa is the front row seat to the waterhole and will provide visitors with the most wonderful up close and personal wildlife experience upon feeding times.

The accommodation features self-catering bush chalets on the watering hole, glamping safari tents, luxury double rooms and a honeymoon suite. All options have a mini-bar and coffee station.
The Duiker-Guestroom has it’s own private entrance and a garden view. The Nyala Honeymoon suite is pure bliss, is situated on the watering hole and has a hot-tub with a view of the wildlife.
Guests staying in rooms have access to the Kalmeer Lapa kitchen to prepare meals on selfcatering basis or they can opt for the “Braai Buffet” and have a South-African feast of traditional meat, breads and salad prepared on hot coals.
The bush chalets are fully furnished and are exclusive to couples only. Ideal getaway for those who want a romantic and private stay. It has the best views of the game and features a hot-tub, cosy indoor and outdoor fireplace and woodfired pizza oven.
The glamping safari tents are self-catering and is equipped with everything you need for a luxury stay. Of course there are hot-tubs here to.
A short 40-minute drive from the Lodge will take you to Cape Town (the mother city) where there is lots to be seen including Table Mountain, Rhodes Memorial, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Boulders Beach Penguins, and the renowned Victoria & Alfred Waterfront which congregates the Two Oceans Aquarium, boat rides to Robben Eiland and the Hop-on, Hop-off Bus. There are wonderful, scenic towns to explore in close proximity. It all depends how long you stay.
